Large Exceptional Satsuma Vase

Large Satsuma glazed and enamelled earthenware vase, of cylindrical form with short flaring neck; Minutely painted with two large reserves. One depicting a Samurai in a mountainous landscape with numerous workers carrying large bundles and dignitary seated in the background. The other with three dignitaries on terraces. The neck with smaller figural reserves, all colourfully enamelled and enriched with gilding.
